Join us on May 31 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM for our Spring Plant Sale. This year’s event will feature a wide variety of native plants from Barkaboom Native Plant Nursery, alongside plants grown and propagated by the Arboretum. Visitors will find a diverse selection including native ornamental, edible, and medicinal plants, in addition to cuttings, vegetables, flowers, and even a few houseplants.
Whether you’re looking to support pollinators, start a garden, or add something new to your home or landscape, we think you’ll find something interesting!
Early arrival is encouraged to ensure best selection. Guests are invited to bring boxes or trays to help carry plants to their cars, and we also welcome donations of clean boxes or recycled plant trays. We’re also looking for a few volunteers! Sign up to volunteer HERE.
Proceeds from the Spring Plant sale support the arboretum’s educational programs and stewardship of its grounds.
Barkaboom Native Plants is a native plant nursery located in Margaretville NY, specializing in plants indigenous to the Catskill Mountains and Hudson Valley. We grow a wide variety of perennial forbs, grasses, trees and shrubs for gardeners, landscapers, restoration professionals, and anyone else interested in adding biodiversity to the land. All of our plants are grown using organic methods from straight-species, non-cultivar seed, to maximize value to at-risk pollinators and our greater ecosystem. Nursery owner Chris Nilan will be present to answer questions on the many benefits of gardening with native plants.
