Mountain Top Arboretum Plant Sale 2026

Welcome to the Mountain Top Arboretum Spring Plant Sale!

Join us on May 30th from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM for a vibrant community plant sale featuring thousands of locally grown plants, native pollinator species, vegetables, medicinal herbs, flowers, woody cuttings, and specialty nursery stock propagated for the Catskills region.

This year’s sale will feature a wide selection of native plants from Barkaboom Native Plant Nursery alongside plants grown and propagated by Mountain Top Arboretum. Visitors will find native ornamentals, edible and medicinal plants, prairie plug pollinator collections, vegetable starts, flowers, shrubs, cuttings, and even a few houseplants!

One of this year’s featured offerings is our Prairie Plug Pollinator Collection — curated native pollinator plugs designed for easy planting. Just pop them into the ground to create instant habitat for bees, butterflies, birds, and beneficial insects. (A big thank you to Hudson Valley Seed Co's Native Pollinator Mix for this selection!)

As well, for the first time, the Arboretum will also be offering plants propagated from seed collected on-site, including Zizia, pink and red Monarda, and Blue Vervain — helping preserve and expand regionally adapted native plant populations connected directly to the Arboretum landscape.

Whether you’re looking to support pollinators, start a kitchen garden, build biodiversity in your landscape, or simply bring home something beautiful, there’s something here for every gardener.

This pre-order shop features limited quantities and seasonal living inventory. Availability may change based on plant growth and crop performance, and some varieties may sell out quickly. Early ordering and early arrival at the sale are strongly encouraged for the best selection.

Guests are encouraged to bring boxes or trays to help transport plants, and donations of clean recycled trays or boxes are always appreciated.

Proceeds from the Spring Plant Sale directly support the Arboretum’s educational programming, ecological stewardship, native plant propagation efforts, and care of its grounds. Because this sale involves seasonal living inventory, occasional losses due to transplant shock, weather, pests, crop failure, or other unforeseen growing conditions may occur. In the event that a pre-ordered plant becomes unavailable prior to pickup, customers will be offered either store credit redeemable at the day-of sale or a refund for the unavailable item.
